St Marks receives no central funding - everything we do depends on the generosity of our congregation and friends.

Where does the money come from?

St Mark’s receives some income from fees and lettings but we rely entirely on giving to meet all the remaining costs. In fact 75% of our 2016 income is expected to come from the gifts of members of the congregation and visitors, including gift aid. Our costs include staffing, ministry expenses and materials, running and maintaining our buildings, and our contribution to the Diocese – and total around £160,000 per year.

We follow the biblical principle of tithing and give 10% of all income received to support mission partners and others in doing God’s work elsewhere.

Jesus talked a lot about money and stewardship. We want to see God’s Kingdom come right here in Leamington and New Milverton. We don’t ask anyone to give more than they can afford, but we do need everyone to give generously of what they can; only then can we continue to serve God as we do, and take hold of the new opportunities he provides.

How can I give?

Direct Debit:

For regular gifts, please complete a Giving form. Forms are available on the Welcome desk at the back of Church, or ask one of the Churchwardens or someone on the Welcome Team. The bank section needs to be completed and sent direct to your bank.

If you are able to gift aid your donation please complete and return that part of the form to Claire Evans, our Treasurer (it makes every £1 you give worth £1.25!), or put it in the collection box at the back of church or hand it in to the Office in an envelope marked ‘Treasurer’. Regular giving like this is especially helpful, as it makes planning easier.

Made payable to ‘St Mark’s PCC’. Please put these in the collection box at the back of church. If you aren’t sure whether we have a gift aid form from you, please check with our Treasurer, Claire Evans, or complete an extra one and enclose it with your cheque.
Please remember to include your postcode, full name and signature if gift aid can be claimed. There are donation envelopes in the pews you may wish to use for this purpose.

Use the envelopes in the pews and place on the collection plate or in the donations box at the back of Church.. Please remember to include your postcode, full name and signature on the envelope if gift aid can be claimed.

Legacy Giving:

Thank you for your generosity!

How is the money spent?

We need to find about £14,000 per month just to keep the church going – that’s £160,000 per year.

For special projects, extra money must be raised.
