Wanted – two arms and two legs

…   a letter from John and Margaret Denning

Once again we are lost for words at the generosity of the people at St Mark’s.  From the evening of fun on 19th November, the grand total so far, including gift aid,  is in excess of £2,800.  This is a wonderful amount and far exceeds any previous fund-raising event we have done.

Sixty people attended the party and were shown the plans for making Stefan’s garden wheel frame friendly.  Stefan is unable to get out of his house unaided as the ground is so uneven, so if he wants to go and play with his friends his father has to carry him to the road.  Stefan is now 12 so this is getting more difficult.

Ken, the specialist, has arranged for a group of disabled ex-service personnel to go to Romania and completely transform Stefan’s garden.

The new garden will have an area where Stefan can sit in the shade – at the moment in the hot summer months he has to stay indoors.  It will also have ramps so he will be able to go out with his friends when they call for him.  This re-vamped garden will give Stefan so much more independence.

Stefan continues to work hard and his perseverance is truly remarkable.  Thank you all so much for the difference you have made to this little boy’s life.  Without people like you he would still be moving round on his bottom with no schooling, no friends and nothing to look forward to.

You have truly transformed his life. This is such an example of Christian love towards a child who had nothing and now has so much to look forward to.

 Our thanks to you all

John and Margaret
