Walk to the water

Maria used to walk five miles to collect water.  The well is in a Muslim village and she is a Christian, so she had to wait at the end of the queue.

Sometimes it would take all day before she could get any water.  One day she was  attacked and badly beaten and now she is too scared to go to the well.

The Nigerian government won’t provide water in Maria’s village because the people are Christians.

We can help!

Either:
Join the November Ramble (click on ‘Ramblers’ above) and ask your  family and friends and colleagues to sponsor you. It’s five miles (the same distance Maria walked to get water) so maybe £1 a mile is a reasonable sum to suggest.  And you could take your own refreshments and donate the cost of  a Pub lunch.

Or:
If walking five miles is not for you, please consider making a donation (cheque payable to OpendoorsUK) and hand it in at the Church office.  Please ask for and complete a Gift Aid form, which increases the gift considerably (you have to be a taxpayer).

Think about how much it would mean
to the Christians in Nigeria
to have a supply of drinking water!
