Walk to the water

Maria used to walk five miles to collect water. The well is in a Muslim village and she is a Christian, so she had to wait at the end of the queue.
Sometimes it would take all day before she could get any water. One day she was attacked and badly beaten and now she is too scared to go to the well.
The Nigerian government won’t provide water in Maria’s village because the people are Christians. |
