Two poems by Paul Mileham

EZRA

Ezra the scribe, from Levi’s tribe
left none of the law unread.
He studied the law,
and learned more and more;
he studied its pages,
for ages and ages;
he taught all his brothers,
and plenty of others -
and what’s more he did what it said!

LIFELIKE

It seems to me as life goes on,
complexity increases;
I’m doing a jigsaw
not having the picture
with an infinite number of pieces.
