The Wardens
The work of God at St Mark’s has benefited for many years from the loyalty and devotion to service of the churchwardens. By no means the least of that proud line are the two most recently retired wardens David Calvert and David Wigman. They gave unstintingly of their time and energy during their six years of office and for that we thank them sincerely. Both of course continue to play an active part at St Mark’s and in the wider deanery.
The church continues its development, seeking to know what God would have us do to reach out to others and show the love of Christ to the community in which we are placed. The vicar and the churchwardens will be playing a key role in seeking to explore with the vision team the scope and nature of where God is leading us, so in view of these increased responsibilities it was decided that two assistant wardens should be appointed to share in the work.
After prayerful consideration Sarah Klein and David Robinson were approached and both agreed to assume this responsibility. In a large church like St Mark’s it is sometimes difficult to know everyone so it is hoped that the details about the new assistant wardens and our existing churchwardens will help.
