SUMMER HOLIDAYS

Youth ministry residentials give young people a chance to go away together, have a great time doing fun activities and meet with God.  Young people from St Mark’s went to Soul Survivor and several different venture camps this summer holiday and, as we prayed for them,  God was at work.

Here’s what some of the young people said:

“The camp was great because of  the friends you make, the activities, and getting to know God better.”

“There are two meetings every day which help, they’re short powerful bursts of Christian love and this year we looked at John’s gospel.”

“I’m not scared to ask questions about God and also I am more able to read the Bible and want to read it
so I can learn more about life and God.”

“It encouraged me because now I know that even though life can get really hard and even if I do wrong,
God loves me, will always be there for me, will forgive me and he wants the best for me.”

“The camp inspired me to read the Bible and step out and do things that I wouldn’t have done before.”

“I like to express my feelings about things, and this camp really helped me to learn a lot more about God, who He is and His Son.”

“I really understand more about why God plans things like Jesus’ death to happen as it did and the talks we had in the Bible study times have really inspired me to do more about
my faith in the future.”

Luke Smith went to ‘Romsey 1’ which he says is the best venture in the world because everyday there was eating, craft, Bible reading and sport!   Toby Harper Lawrence also went to ‘Romsey 1’ and he says that each day there were loads of activities to do – archery, sports, crafts, salon (hair styling- which he didn’t go to!) and a big meeting in the evening with talks, worship, and crazy games

Miriam Lee went to ‘Stanbridge Earls 3’ in Romsey where the schedule was jam packed!  Some highlights for her were going to the beach, canoeing, dressing the dorm leader as a Chinese dragon and playing “It’s a washout!”

Thank God for all he has done this summer in the young people’s lives, and please pray that this year will be a year when we see transformation beyond what we could ask or imagine.
