St Mark’s Wardens

Sarah Klein moved from Washington DC to complete graduate teacher training at Reading University four years ago. She now teaches history at Myton School having become interested in English history as a teenager in the States. Her enthusiasm for her subject is very evident.
She loves living in Leamington, feels very much at home in the St Mark’s community and is always willing to take on further responsibilities so much so that she was the driving force behind the refurbishment of the hall toilets in time for Peter Ormerod and Emma Perry’s wedding.

Dan Wood, elected to the post of Churchwarden in April, moved with his wife Amanda to Leamington three years ago. They are both very committed to the church and have taken on a number of jobs including playing in the band at the 9.15 and 6.30 services and agreeing to be on the duty rota for laptop and sound systems at the 6.30 service. Dan works as an Aerospace Engineer for Atlantic Airlines Ltd, part of the largest cargo carrier in Europe, based at Coventry Airport. As his day-job is all about maintenance, he has taken on the role of chair of the Fabric Committee, where he hopes to use his professional training to the glory of God. So far he has been instrumental in organising the temporary repair of the flat roof of the the Hall complex, which is now thankfully watertight. He intends, with the help of the members of the Fabric Committee, to tackle some of the other fabric jobs that await attention as soon as possible.

Ann Parsons, elected to the post of Church warden in April 2010, moved to Leamington Spa from Knutsford, Cheshire in 1993 to take up the post of deputy head of the Kingsley School. She had previously been a member of staff at Altrincham Girls’ Grammar School teaching music to GCSE and A Level for many years.
She has been worshipping at St Mark’s since 1993 and has served on the PCC for seven years and been a trustee of the Gilbert Scott Trust for even longer. Her children, Clive, Jeremy, Helen and five grandchildren all live in America and she and her husband Tony visit them as often as possible. Ann is grateful to God for his unchanging faithfulness and love over many years and prays that he will use the skills she has developed to further his kingdom in St Mark’s and in the community of New Milverton.

David and Sheila Robinson and their two children Abigail and Jamie have been worshipping at St Mark’s for some time. Sheila writes novels, Abigail has just completed GCSEs and is preparing to study a BTech in interactive media, Jamie attends Round Oak school and is an expert in History, the Simpsons and Dr Who.
David is a chartered civil engineer specialising in the design, construction, alteration and maintenance of building structures. These range from commercial buildings, healthcare facilities ( particularly cancer diagnosis and treatment) supermarkets and shopping centres, leisures buildings such as the Heinz archive at the National Portrait Gallery and numerous schools in Coventry. His knowledge and expertise is already proving very helpful in his capacity as a member of the Fabric Committee. Sarah and David were both elected to the PCC in April this year.
