SNOWDODGERS ARE GO!
As we go to press (at the end of April) Jay Farley and friends have travelled through Holland, Denmark and then into Sweden, where they went up to the 28th floor of a tower for stunning views. Then Further North to Sundsvall and snow. Of course they met Santa, and saw the reindeer.
They reached the Arctic Circle and went into Finland. One of the cars developed problems and had to be left behind for repair. Jay and Co are in Pori in Finland, having stuck the front of the car into a snowdrift.
To keep up to date, check out the blog. Go to:
You will find a long menu down the left hand side of the page: click on Spanners and Pants, as their car is called (Jay evidently irons them – not the spanners).
And check out too WHY they are doing this: to highlight the human trafficking and poverty in Moldova. Have you sponsored them yet?
HOMECOMING BALL

To celebrate the return of the Snowdodgers teams there will be a Snowdodgers Home Coming Ball! It is on Friday 19th June, at 7.30 pm ’til late at the Church Hall.
It will be an unique opportunity to invite friends and family (over 18′s) to dress up and enjoy an evening’s entertainment, featuring the Steve Steinhaus Swing Band. This five-piece band is fronted by the big voice and personality of Steve, who is ably backed by four exceptional rhythm section musicians from the Birmingham Conservatoire on sax, bass, drums and keyboard.
They will serenade you with a night of swing and jazz from the American Songbook. Expect to hear old favourites such as Fly Me To The Moon, King of the Swingers, Soul Man and Superstitious. It’s infectious music that you won’t be able to resist getting up and having a boogie to! It’s a little bit Rat Pack and a little bit jazzy, so get those dancing shoes buffed up and ready to go! Get your tickets booked now because there are a limited number available!
Ticket price £12.50 to include buffet supper, with bar available.
Telephone Penny Mitchell on 772045, or enquire after any service at St. Mark’s.
