Rosemary Major (nee Harington)

My wife, Rosemary, passed on in March into the nearer presence of her Lord.  She had a severe stroke in February from which she never recovered.

Although she wasn’t able to speak or eat it was clear to our daughter and me that in her unconsciousness she was still listening. Her severity was such that one felt she was already  “in the heavenlies”.  Her ending, in Warwick hospital, was peaceful.

We all had most happy memories of St Mark’s from the time we lived in Guy’s Cliffe Avenue, and wonderful vicars (such as Bishop Frank Houghton and Cecil Redgrave).

At the Thanksgiving Service in Claverdon Church nearly 150 friends and relations gathered to praise the Lord for her life.  It culminated with a favourite hymn: “May the mind of Christ my Saviour live in me from day to day” and the closing words: “looking only unto Jesus as I onward go”.
