Prayer

During Lent we shall be focusing on prayer. This is what was received from the Children’s Society.

Prayer is about honouring our Creator and redeemer and spending time in his presence.

Prayer is about letting go of our anxieties or animosities

Prayer is about consciousness of the Church of God and of the Communion of Saints

Prayer is about the adoration of God in his goodness, greatness and goodness

Prayer is about yearning for the wholeness and well-being of others

Prayer is about remembering those suffering, pain, illness, trauma, or difficulty

Prayer is about bringing the structures and processes of society before the justice and peace of God

Prayer is about sustaining others in their discipleship and ministry

Prayer is about being renewed in a spirit of uncomplicated thankfulness

Prayer is about growing in alignment with the mind of Christ

Prayer is about contemplation upon God’s mission and kingdom

Prayer is about becoming energised for joyful, creative and responsible living in God’s world.

The practice of prayer, private or corporate, is surely one of the richest experiences which we can encourage children and young people to discover and to engage in for themselves.
