The Nason family will be with us for all three services on 27th June, when we will hear all the up-to-date news of Laurie’s work as a pilot with Mission Aviation Fellowship, based in Uganda.
An example of the sort of situation that can occur was an occasion last year when Laurie was called upon for a medical evacuation from Mbarara, Uganda. Jelsom, the patient, suffered a spinal injury in a car crash.
Laurie was met at the airstrip in Mbarara by the waiting ambulance and Jelsom’s family.
Having removed seats from the plane, to make the necessary space, Jelsom was secured to the stretcher and carefully manoeuvered into the aircraft.
The 55 minute flight safely transported Jelsom, accompanied by his sister, to Kajjansi airfield, Kampala, where another ambulance met the group and transferred him for further hospital care.
