OBITUARIES

Joan Wakefield

Joan worked for many years as a secretary in the Pathology Lab office at Warwick Hospital. She and her husband Jim enjoyed many cruise holidays together.

After her retirement she played an active role in the NHS Retirement Fellowship as secretary and in the NALGO Retirement Group, where she organised the speakers.

Jim died in 2003 and shortly after this she attended an Alpha course, which led to her becoming a regular worshipper at the 11.15 service.

She was in a Small Group and a member of Mothers’ Union.

Ray Doel

Ray was a true evangelist and spent his life preaching the Gospel message. In years gone by, he was a well-known figure in Leamington and could be seen frequently in the Parade, handing out tracts and telling anyone who cared to listen all about Jesus.

He was not actually a member of St. Marks (although his wife Molly helped at FIRs for many years, until very recently) but we were certainly aware of his presence!
