Friends in Retirement (FIRs)
While Nikki was serving pancakes at home to many people on Shrove Tuesday, Lucy cooked for us a lovely beef casserole with lots of tasty vegetables in. And then gateaux. Yum! We are so grateful to Lucy for cooking for us.
Afterwards our dear friend Cliff gave a really magical magic show. While folk were sitting at tables waiting for the meal to start and between courses, Cliff came around amazing us with card tricks. And then when we had cleared away, he gave us a fascinating half hour’s magic show.
He didn’t attempt to guillotine anyone this time(!), but he himself ended the show with a terrifying and quite unfathomable trick potentially doing himself serious injury.
Next month, nothing so dangerous: Sidney Tyrrell with her Leamington Guide hat on, and with pictures, will talk about -yes – Leamington!
