Eileen Holt

Eileen was born in South Wales just months before the outbreak of WW1 and married her husband Bill (they met at a church dance) just before the start of WW2.

Sadly Bill died of leukemia in 1975, and it took Eileen a long time to recover.  In 1984 she came to Leamington, to be near her daughter Elizabeth, and so we came to know her here at St Mark’s.

It was a revelation to many that she was 96 when she died, as most of us thought that she was a lot younger!   At the age of 80 she had been mugged, and had surprised her attackers by chasing them across the Pump Room Gardens and raising the alarm.  She got her handbag back!

Eileen was a lovely lady, and will be much missed.
