On September 19th 2009, ten Readers will be licensed in Coventry Cathedral by Bishop Christopher.
Before Readers are licensed, they enjoy a 'mini-retreat' at Offa House one evening during the week before the service. At their retreat, they receive
their Reader's scarf and a badge. Christine Haines, Warden of Readers, introduced
Rev Canon Roger Spiller who led the main session after supper. During the evening, each new Reader was introduced to their 'Companion',
a more experienced Reader who walks alongside them for the first year of their new ministry. The Companion scheme is overseen by Ray Filby.
