Circle of Friends Cornerstone Church Centre Howard Street Coventry CV1 4GE |
Dear Parishioners of St. Mark’s Leamington,
I am writing to thank you so much for the gifts of toiletries and household equipment that Ruth Smith so kindly delivered to Circle of Friends this week. Such donations really help life to become a bit more joyful for the asylum seekers and refugees we are working with. This week “the shop” was stocked really well and we have put away some of your gifts to bring out over the next couple of weeks.
The trike was first prize in our free raffle and caused much excitement. Practical demonstrations that people care really mean such a lot to the people we are working with.
I can assure you that your help is vital. We have between 80 and 100 people attending Circle of Friends every Tuesday at Cornerstone Church Centre and amongst them are four destitute families and six destitute individuals.
On-going requests (that your parishioners may be able to help with) are as follows:
Food items, pushchairs (especially double ones), stair-gates, pots and pans; blenders, microwaves; mirrors; vacuum cleaners; washing machines; kitchen table and chairs; curtains; bedding; baby clothes; children’s clothes (all ages) and good shoes (for men, women and children); bicycles.
Again, my sincere thanks to you all. It’s good to be part of a wider caring church family.
