Magazine for October 2010
£2,000,000 A YEAR
That’s how much is raised each year for the Children’s Society in boxes. Some boxes have just a few pounds in, some are bulging at the seams. Some even fall apart! But for ALL the money the Society is very grateful. This is a Church of England charity. So it’s OUR charity, our way of showing our love.
I have been to visit the Children’s Society project in Coventry, working with children who are on the streets having fled abuse and bullying. Over a hundred children were referred to the project by the Police and Social Services last year.
We shall be opening St. Mark’s boxes at the Craft Fair on Saturday, October 30th.
If you would like a box to put in a regular donation, or just loose change that clutters up your pocket, pick up a box from the Craft Fair, or from St. Mark’s Church the day after, that will be Sunday, 31st October. Or direct debit forms are available.
