New and changing ministries
MAASAI WAHITO is 27 years old and joining us from Parklands Baptist Church in Nairobi, Kenya. Maasai will be spending this academic year at St Mark’s and her time will be especially focused on children’s work with Phillipa. Maasai has recently completed a degree in Biblical and Religious studies and has a variety of experience in youth and children’s work. We are looking forward to getting to know Maasai – please join in giving her a warm welcome and helping her get to know this community and making it her home for the year.
PAM HOWELL. We are so delighted that Pam has been accepted for Ordination Training. She will be commuting to Queen’s College Birmingham, as well as having a day job, being a wife and mother, and no doubt still playing an important role on the life, especially the musical life of our church. Pray that her multi-tasking will still enable her to enjoy these many roles, and pray too for Mark, Joseph and Laura.
NAT REUSS. We are delighted too that Nat will continue his training for ordination at Nottingham. His father is also an ordained priest in Australia. We remember with thanks Nat‘s great work here as Youth Worker, and pray for the future for him and Ruth and baby Esther.
BOB CLUCAS. Bob and family have done so much for St. Mark’s we can’t begin to list it all, but many of our young folk will have been inspired by his refreshingly different sense of fun and his enthusiasm. Bob was especially indispensable during our interregnum, as he has been to other parishes, such as Cubbington in similar circumstances. Now he is to join the staff at Napton and Stockton with their vicar Tim Britton, who has only eight parishes! We pray for Bob, Ann and Matthew, as well as the others who have flown the nest.
BECKY WELSH. Becky is now a curate on the staff of Coventry Cathedral. Quite an unusual curacy, and we pray that she will be a blessing and blessed there.
