Catching the Vision
At our day of prayer on 29th January, I launched our church vision for the next three years. I hope that by now you will have read it, prayed through it and discussed it in your small groups. The wording of this vision statement has evolved over a period of months through consultation, discussion and prayer with a sub group of the PCC and a number of other people across the congregations. The Vision is intended to provide focus under God during these next months and years. You will have seen that the purpose of a statement like this is to address areas in church life which stand in need of special attention at this time.
Having published this statement, we are very keen to receive comments; you will find slips at the back of church by the display board.
We then move on into the implementation phase, working through the areas and specific actions as thoroughly as we can, seeking God’s inspiration and grace as we do so. I will be drawing together a team whose role this will be. It is of course essential that we do not treat this statement as being merely a set of aspirations; we will need to draw on and combine spiritual and practical gifts to see it through.
It is good to note that, as the statement has evolved during past months, we have seen good progress and imaginative steps already being taken and bearing fruit; please join me in praying and working towards the realisation of the Vision as outlined and to see continuing signs of the Lord at work among us and in the parish around us.
Every blessing
Paul
