Anne Bailey – long life, short stories
|
Congratulations to Anne who celebrated her 80th birthday on March 31st and to mark the occasion some more of her short stories were published. (What an amazing lady to do so much with such poor eyesight). I was amazed by the ingenuity of the plots. The book, appropriately called 8zero, is available price £6.75. Here is part of Anne’s foreword:
“I have been writing for many years, mainly for my own amusement. I have many short stories and novels that await a final tweak and subsequent publication. I am now in my eightieth year, and decided it was time to show the world what I have been doing in my garage huddled around a heater in the colder months, hour after hour, with just my computer and the obligatory thesaurus for company.

“As someone who is registered blind, I have learned to treat this condition as an inconvenience. But since my hospitalisation last year I have found myself having to depend upon others a great deal more. Now with encouragement I am getting back into writing and editing. I want to say a big thank you to my family and also friends at St Marks in Leamington for all your support and prayers.”
