Magazine for July 2009
An invitation from Phillipa Munday
(Phillipa is Co-ordinator of the Church Youth sections)
Would you like a new opportunity to serve God and the children of St Mark’s on a regular basis? We will have a few vacancies in the autumn term and I would love to have a chat with anyone who feels they would like to explore the possibilities.
First, we are looking for a couple of leaders to join the rotas for leading Sunday morning children’s groups during the 9.15 service – if you’re interested, catch me at the beginning of a 9.15 service and I’ll show you round! – or call me 07952 638078/402227.
Next, Toddlers meets on Friday mornings, and welcomes parents/carers and small children from the local community (from babies to school age). It’s fun to play, drink coffee and chat, and we really need some members of the church to get involved here.
You don’t need to bring a child, but of course if you have one that’s great! - and it would be really good to have one or two folk who can help with craft activities, make coffee, read stories, lead action songs and just generally be around to offer hospitality and friendship.
There’s no age limit – some ‘aunties’ or ‘grand parents’ would be great. We have a few new members with limited English who really appreciate it when someone takes the time to have a conversation, so whatever your gift, if you’re available sometimes or always on a Friday morning, please call me.
Please note, CRB clearance would be required if not attending as a parent/carer with a child – but it’s easy to do, so don’t be put off.
Thanks,
Phillipa
