Magazine for July 2009
THIS IS AN ADVERTISEMENT!
Well, it’s not actually – but it could be! The PCC has received a request from a firm of solicitors to place a regular advertisement in the Magazine. After discussion at the last PCC meeting, it was decided to ask you, the readers, for your thoughts generally about advertisements.
As you are well aware, no charge is made for the Magazine, nor even donations requested towards the cost. It cannot be denied that a modest income from ads would be useful, and – for example – could justify reasonable use of colour, which is expensive relative to black-and-white.
On the other hand, a position could arise in which a member of our congregation could find that a competitor in their business was advertising on their doorstep.
There are sure to be other ‘good’ and ‘bad’ aspects of advertising in the Magazine that will be important to you, and ….
WE WANT TO KNOW!
This is an opportunity for your voice to be heard. Please email Katie in the Church Office whether on balance you are ‘for’ or ‘against’ the general principle of ads in the Magazine, together with any specific comments you have.
Do please everyone make an effort to do this (by Sunday 12th July at the very latest), so that a representative opinion can be available for the PCC meeting on 13th July.
