ACTION NEEDED!
![]() 'There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.' |
This is one of a number of buses in London sponsored by the ‘Atheist Bus Campaign’ which has apparently raised £140,000 to put such ads on public transport. It seems that now the BBC has been persuaded to replace a ‘God Slot’ in one of the radio programmes, with a humanist contribution. In addition, there is currently a strong campaign to extend this to the ‘Today’ programme on radio 4. |
The Controller of Radio 4, Mark Damazek, has until now rigorously upheld a ban on humanist and atheistic contributions. However, he is under pressure, because approaching 2,000 people have contacted him, urging him to discontinue the ban.
As Christians, we can and will pray about this, but this is a situation in which action is also required, to attack the godless element which exists in our supposedly Christian society.
We really should stand up and be counted, and oppose strongly any change of policy which will allow this form of advertising. If Mark Damazek can demonstrate support, he will have better prospects of retaining the ban on the humanists and the atheists.
Please write, telephone, or e-mail to tell Mark Damazek what you think about this. Do it now.
