130 Years of St Mark’s

11th and 12th July 2009

In July St Mark’s will be 130 years old.  It is therefore a good opportunity to celebrate God’s faithfulness to His people throughout those years and to welcome friends, neighbours and members of the Milverton community.

On Saturday 11th July there will be guided tours of the church and tower at 2.00 pm, cream teas (£1.50) from 2.00-5.00 pm, a Traidcraft stall, sales of cards and notelets in aid of the Gilbert Scott Trust and a concert at 7.00 pm.  Tickets for the concert are priced at £2.50 (£1.00 per child) and both wine and soft drinks will be available for purchase during the interval.

Our celebrations on Sunday 12th July begin with our annual open air service followed at 12.30 pm by a Hog Roast (£4.00 per adult, £2.00 per child and £10 per family ticket).  Hilltop Farms are providing the hog, soft rolls, sage and onion stuffing, apple sauce, a range of salads, sausages for children and a vegetarian option.  In keeping with what we hope will be a glorious summer day we shall serve strawberries with cream.  Drinks will also be available for purchase.

Games, including a Bungee Eliminator (hired for four hours from 1.30-5.30 pm) should provide really energetic exercise for those who feel they may have eaten too much, or if you prefer a lazy afternoon why not enjoy the displays in church followed by a cream tea from 3.00-5.00 pm?

We hope that you will be able to join us at this very special event.

Telephone Ann Parsons on (01926) 338572, or enquire after any of the services.
