St Mark’s 130th anniversary celebrations

Saturday 11th July 2.00-5.00

  • People queued for Tower tours from 2.00pm onwards. A good number were visitors. There was a really lovely ‘buzz’ in church with lots of families present
  • The café was busy throughout the afternoon with sales exceeding expectations and the bookstall, cards and Traidcraft stalls were well attended

Saturday 11th July Celebratory Concert 7.00pm

  • This was a really successful event. The audience was bigger than expected and very warm and receptive.
  • The members of the Warwickshire Youth Chorale were particularly good. Their programme contained something for all tastes and, judging from the very appreciative comments received on Saturday and Sunday, everyone who came enjoyed the evening

Sunday 12th July Open Air Service

  • Unfortunately, rain made this another inside outside service after a scramble to move everything indoors.
  • There were approximately 235 adults and 90 children at the service. Chairs had to be brought in to seat people at the back.

Hog Roast

  • Approximately 200 meals were served. There were lots of familiar faces and newcomers, lots of activity at the bar, the sun shone all afternoon and the atmosphere was wonderful.
  • The bungee eliminator attracted all sorts of paticipants and was great fun.
  • The café did a roaring trade until 4.30pm.

A very happy and successful weekend all round!
